Why not just use a group chat for 86s?
A group chat has no state. The 86 scrolls away, a new cook isn't in the thread, and nothing is searchable by dish. Heard keeps a live 86 board that every signed-in phone sees in realtime.
Does Heard replace our kitchen group chat?
For kitchen operations, yes: the 86 board, prep list, recipes and pass-down notes live in Heard, and every plan includes team chat. You can keep the group text for everything else.
What's wrong with a whiteboard on the pass?
Nothing at the pass. It can't be seen from the walk-in, the office or tomorrow, it carries no allergen information, and it gets wiped. Heard's 86 board updates in realtime on every phone.
How much does Heard cost compared to a group chat?
A group chat, a whiteboard and a paper list cost nothing. Heard is free during the beta. After the beta, Starter is $49 CAD per month per kitchen and Pro is $99 CAD per month per kitchen.
Do we need to install anything?
