Heard holds your prep, your book, and your team's logins. Here's exactly what that means — in plain language. Heard is a tool your kitchen runs on, so most of what we store is there to make the line work, not to track you.
Who controls your data
Your kitchen (your employer) decides what goes into Heard and why — they're the controller. Heard operates the software on their behalf. If you're a staff member and want data changed or removed, start in the app; your kitchen's admin can act on the rest.
What we store
- Your profile — name, email, role, title, photo, bio, and phone number (if you add one).
- Login — your email and a securely hashed password, handled by our database provider.
- Notifications — push subscriptions and SMS preferences, so alerts reach the right phone.
- Your work in the app — prep you check off, dishes you 86, notes and messages you write. Your kitchen owns these operational records.
- Feedback you send us.
- Cookie choices — a record of what you agreed to, so we can honor it.
Who we share it with
Only the service providers that make Heard run — hosting, database, notifications, and the AI that powers Roux. Roux's answers are generated by OpenAI from your kitchen's own recipes and specs; that content isn't used to train AI models. We don't sell your data. Your controls
- Download your data — export everything tied to you as a file, any time, from Settings → Privacy.
- Delete your account — request it in Settings. We remove your login and scrub your personal details. Your kitchen's operational history stays, but it's no longer tied to your name.
- Fix your details — edit your profile in Settings.
- Change cookie choices — , or manage notifications in Settings.
How long we keep it
Your profile lives as long as your account does. Feedback and notifications age out over time. When you leave or delete your account, your login and personal details are removed; the kitchen's operational records are kept in anonymized form.
